The Gospel

Who Are They?

The Gospel are a UK based cinematic goth band. Infusing ornate arrangements with
vintage grittiness that oozes from 1970s analogue synthesizers, their otherworldly music
deftly traverses the void between Nick Cave and Goldfrapp.
Fronted by L.A. renegade Jimmy Sweet with an all star female band featuring Danni
McCormack (Mel from hit 90’s TV series ‘My Parents Are Aliens’), Charis Anderson (Curse
Of Lono), Sinead Bales (Courtesans), Aze Corleone (Poussez Posse) and Saffire Sanchez
(Courtesans). Based in Manchester, The Gospel recently launched themselves onto the
scene with a string of live dates, attracting an ecstatic review from Louder Than War’s
John Robb who praised: “The music is mind-blowing…it feels like The Gospel are going to
be making a big noise soon”.
The single ‘Lord Can You Hear Me’ was released in October 2023 and has amassed over
8K views on YouTube. They promoted this release with a debut US show in LA in October
2023 at the amazing Goth club ‘Bar Sinister’ where they secured a deal with Cleopatra
Records. This show was followed up with a special performance at the Reptile Club in
London in November where the promoter said they 'stole the show'!!
They supported Corpus Delicti at the amazing Manchester Cathedral at the end of
February 2024.
Their next single, for Cleopatra Records, a cover of Madonna’s ‘Like A Prayer’, was
released in May 2024 and was promoted with shows supporting Miranda Sex Garden at
The Garage in London and Birmingham (Castle and Falcon). For Halloween they
appeared at the legendary Goth Festival ‘Tomorrow's Ghosts’ in Whitby with Creeper &
IST IST followed by shows in Sheffield and Manchester in November with Aurelio Voltaire.
2025 started off with their first headline in their home town of Manchester at Night & Day
and then a support with PIG in London in March. They released two singles back to back
in April 2025: 'Uninvited' and ‘The Only One’ to coincide with their first full UK tour in May
supporting Lene Lovich. Summer festival dates followed, including Kendal Calling and a
great London show at the legendary 100 Club.
